Lets focus on the street. All colored lines, are lines of bumper to bumper cars. including when they incorporate. So every line blocks another one on the roundabout. Now Police men are a must here to make the thing work accordingly. But this makes even longer lines while you're waiting. It is starting to be a daily nightmare to come across it. I left the soccer field so you can see the proportions of the place.

unrelated but my boss was in town with the beigest of rentals. Gave me the keys to drive since I was local. He'd never seen a roundabout - so we circled it like 5 times, beige wheels squeeling even.

If only there was some kind of solution for really busy 4-way intersections... Like letting a few cars go from each side, then the next, then repeat indefinitely, while in less congested traffic, the busier drag is given priority. And instead of humans directing traffic, maybe use some kind of machine? And use colors to indicate what the driver is supposed to be doing at this intersection.
I hate roundabouts. People do not know how to use them and they're usually never designed with enough foresight.

Right, they did not foresee the city growth. And it will only go worse. This is what worries me the most, because it is the only way to where i live. Your suggestion could work but i doubt they will come with something like this.

And yet, near where I live, the tiny city of Winooski (home of the Great Bacon Imbroglio ) tore out a four way intersection and replaced it with a large traffic circle. The four-way was a mess. The traffic circle is marginally better, despite the efforts of incompetent drivers.

The nearest roundabout to me has temporary traffic lights for two-three hours in the morning and in the evening to cope with 'rush hour' traffic at peak times but is otherwise a regular free flowing roundabout.

This happened to me once. I was driving a 40-foot transit bus at the time. I got halfway around the circle and then the lady in front of me decided to NOT take the exit at the last minute, but couldn't get out of my way completely because of the car ahead of her. That meant I got trapped and all the lemmings behind me piled in ALL around the circle. Complete gridlock.
To make matters worse, the policeman who showed up 5 minutes later to "unlock" everything decided to prioritize getting me out first, not realizing that I was never going to fit out the exit unless EVERYONE shifted forward 3 car lengths. Ugh. People are dumb.
